Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about Support Coordination and our services — in plain language, without the jargon.

Getting started

What is Support Coordination?

Support Coordination is an NDIS-funded support that helps you understand your plan, connect with the right providers and build the confidence to manage your supports over time. A support coordinator works with you — not for any provider — so their advice is independent.

How is Support Coordination funded?

It's funded through the Capacity Building budget in your NDIS plan, under 'Support Coordination'. If it's in your plan, there's no cost to you. If you're not sure whether it's included, send us your plan (or just call) and we'll help you check.

How long does it take to get started?

Usually within a few days of your referral. We'll have an initial conversation, confirm your funding, and match you with a coordinator who fits your situation. There's no waitlist games — if we can't take you on promptly, we'll tell you honestly.

How do I make a referral?

Anyone can refer — participants, family members, support coordinators, LACs, planners and allied health professionals. Use our online referral form, email referrals@yourjourneysc.com.au, or call 1300 430 320.

Working with us

Can I choose my own providers?

Yes — always. Your choice and control is the whole point of the NDIS. We suggest providers we trust and explain why, but every decision is yours. If something isn't working, we'll help you change it.

Do you work with families and carers?

Absolutely. Families, nominees and support providers are often the people holding everything together, and we treat them as part of the team. With the participant's consent, we keep them informed and involved at every step.

Will I have the same coordinator each time?

Yes. You'll have a named primary support coordinator who knows your story, your household and your goals — never a call centre. A fully briefed secondary coordinator is on standby whenever your primary is away.

What areas do you cover?

We're Melbourne-based, serving participants across Australia wide. By video or phone anywhere in Australia, and face to face in Melbourne and Victoria. If you're unsure whether we can help where you are, just ask — if we can't, we'll point you to someone who can.

Still have questions?

We're here to help. Call us on 1300 430 320 or send a message — there's no such thing as a silly question.
